What’s Stressing You?
Stress is one of the most harmful manifestations on our body and mind. According to the Mayo Clinic, stress has the following effects on us:
On our bodies:
Headache
Muscle tension or pain
Chest pain
Fatigue
Change in sex drive
Stomach upset
Sleep problem
On our mood:
Anxiety
Restlessness
Lack of motivation or focus
Irritability or anger
Sadness or depression
On our behavior:
Overeating or under eating
Angry outbursts
Drug or alcohol abuse
Tobacco use
Social withdrawal
And according to WebMD, it also can cause the following diseases or health problems”:
Heart disease
Asthma
Obesity
Diabetes
Headaches
Depression and anxiety
Gastrointestinal problems
Alzheimer’s disease
Accelerated aging
Premature death
According to the American Psychological Association, seven out of every 10 American adults reported in 2012 that they experience physical or non-physical symptoms from stress. We are a stressed-out nation – no doubt about it! According to that same study, Americans continue to recognize the impact of stress — 66 percent believe their stress has a moderate, strong or very strong impact on their physical health, and 63 percent believe the same for their mental health. Yet only 37 percent say they are doing an excellent or very good job managing their stress.
Okay, okay, enough of the statistics and gloomy news! And if you have read anything in my blog or on my website, you probably know what’s coming next: Hypnotherapy is proven to be an excellent way to manage stress – and quickly! Study after study show the beneficial effects of hypnosis and hypnotherapy on stress, leading to increased weight loss, mitigation or eradication of disease symptoms, increased fertility, improved sleep, and improvement in virtually every single one of the effects or health problems listed above. It is true!
