Hypnosis – What Is It Good For?

Ask a room full of people what hypnosis is used for, and the majority of them will say one of two things: to quit smoking, or to lose weight. They would be right in either case. The problem is, as a hypnotherapist, I know that hypnosis is a great form of therapy for literally hundreds of areas where people desire change, improvement, medical or psychological relief, or help with a problem. Unfortunately, most people have no idea how helpful hypnosis can be..

Did you know hypnosis is helpful in addressing acne? How about agoraphobia? Chronic fatigue syndrome? Dyslexia? How about erectile dysfunction, fear of flying, or fear of almost anything? Or improving your golf game? Your tennis game? Your baseball skills, or almost any sports performance? Did I mention Hypochondria? Infertility (yes, really!) Well what about Lupus, or migraines, or nail biting? Yep, those too! Would you believe OCD? Panic attacks? Self-confidence? Great for all of those too! Guess what, hypnosis is great for stuttering, and thumb-sucking, and warts, and seasonal affective disorder. Also procrastination, and phobia release, and memory improvement. It’s great for improving student’s learning performance, speed reading, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and Fibromyalgia. Rheumatoid Arthritis, chronic pain (big time!), and child birthing.

You get the picture. I could sit here and write out a laundry list of areas where hypnosis is very effective; hundreds of areas, as I said. But would you believe me? Maybe not because you have never heard of people who have been helped in these areas. But I have, and every hypnotherapist I know has, and their clients sure have! Millions of people for many, many decades (centuries, really!) have benefited from the process of hypnotherapy, and as the word of how very effective and helpful hypnosis can be spreads, millions more people will too.

It is so personally gratifying to me to help someone completely eradicate chronic pain, for instance, and have them tell me they wish they had tried hypnosis long ago. They tell me they have tried every other kind of treatment, to include western medicine and pharmaceuticals, and with little or no success, at least long-term. They think hypnosis was a miracle for them, and I tell them it certainly is not – it was just discovering the origin of their issue, which almost always lies in the subconscious, and applying a hypnotherapy solution.

Know one thing though – hypnosis is not a panacea. It cannot fix everything, and a well-trained and experienced hypnotherapist will tell you if an issue you are dealing with can be helped by hypnotherapy or not. And it costs nothing to ask.

If you or someone you care about has an issue that needs improving, or changed, or eradicated, or explored, and nothing else you have tried has worked, consider hypnosis. It may absolutely blow your mind! It sure has for millions of others!

Hypnotherapy is one more reminder to me of how very powerful our minds are – most especially the miracle of our subconscious mind. What a great reminder here of how many way this modality can help us tap into that power!

You are so very right! The acceptance of hypnotherapy is improving, but so many people are totally unaware of how effective and how quickly hypnotherapy can help people effect meaningful and desirable change.

I never knew that hypnosis could be helpful for treating so many problems. I am glad that I read this blog. I have used it just for quitting smoking and the results have been fantastic. Its been two years since I am smoke-free and I feel great.
