Hypnosis and PTSD
Hypnotherapy, the use of hypnosis in therapy, has been found to be very effective for use in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Often, people suffering from PTSD undergo years of traditional psychotherapy, coupled with medication, and often have minimal successful results. Hypnotherapy has been proven to often provide a quick and very successful remedy to the effects of PTSD.
Hypnotherapy accesses the sub-conscious in a way that most treatments cannot, and the subconscious is where the memories that trigger PTSD symptoms reside. By “reframing” those memories, an experienced and well-trained hypnotherapist can help the client create new thought patterns that reduce the harmful patterns that previously existed.

July 11, 2014I totally agree that hypnosis would help with PTSD, It makes sense to try and access your subconscious mind to control the flashback/dreams of the dramatic event.

July 12, 2014Matt, one of the almost guaranteed results from hypnotherapy is increasing relaxation, and the more you do it, the more relaxed you become. Additionally, almost no other form of therapy can provide the quick relief from PTSD that hypnotherapy can, because it helps the sufferer “reframe” the traumatic events that cause the PTSD. There are a whole host of other benefits, such as truly forgiving oneself, that also come into play and which hypnotherapy drills down to the core of in the subconscious.
